about

©2012 Greg Everett
Take a look through the window of an alien spacecraft. View the earth as it might appear in the future should we continue on our current path, destroying our environment and depleting resources. And why are we doing these insane things? Why...for the sake of money, of course - all in the name of greed.

lyrics

Earthlings
©2012 Greg Everett

Verse:
To have been an earthly traveler, back in twenty ten
To have seen the wild and felt beguiled by scenes that never end
Remote lands untouched by man, where beasts still ran free
And air so clean the sparkling skies, must've been somethin' to see

Verse:
There were trees and bees and scents to please from flowers everywhere
There were crystal seas and the poles would freeze in the dark, icy air
From polar bears to penguins and swooping cranes in flight
From outer space, that deep blue haze must've been quite a sight

Bridge:
But it was all destroyed for money, all in the name of greed
The ground is scorched, radiation torched and burned all future seed
They tried to restore the forests, too late to supersede
Lost for the sake of money, gone in the name of greed

Chorus:
So self-serving, undeserving, no reversing stupid Earthlings
Self-serving, undeserving, no reversing stupid Earthlings

Lead:

Chorus:

Verse:
Shoulda given back, but all they did was take
They were smart enough to love, but dumb enough to hate
Pyramids they built all ended up the same
They filled the till but their spiral drilled out the heart of their domain

Chorus:

Chorus:
