Durango 03:29
Durango ©2017 Greg Everett Verse: A three day beard and black hat, Shoulder guns and chaps And a horse that’s built for ridin’ long and hard With the gold from Durango, On its way to Mexico And the outlaw, its self appointed guard But he’s in for the run of his life With the marshal right behind, and always in sight Chorus: He could’a rode on through Durango, He took a wrong turn tonight He should’a rode on through Durango, He picked the wrong man to fight Verse White hat and white horse, And white pearl handled guns o’course And a reputation spreadin’ far and wide Well everybody’s heard, He’s the best, that’s the word He won’t give the outlaw any place to hide But he’s in for the run of his life With the outlaw makin’ ground, it’s hard to keep him in sight Chorus Verse Well he’s got his man so many times, But now he’s laid it on the line It’s been years since anyone has dared There’s a weight upon his shoulders, He can feel he’s gotten older His reputation may be more than he can bear But he’s in for the run of his life With the outlaw makin’ ground, it’s hard to keep him in sight Chorus (He could’a rode on through Durango He took a wrong turn tonight) But he’s in for the run of his life With the marshal right behind, and always in sight Chorus (He could’a rode on through Durango He took a wrong turn tonight He should’a rode on through Durango Now someone’s got to pay with his life)

Make It Bright ©2017 Greg Everett Verse: Raindrops beatin' on my window pane Sittin' here realizing that I'll never be the same Lookin' out and wond'rin' where you've gone When the sun comes out and lights my face I'll carry on It's time I moved on out of your guiding light And made my own way in the night ........ Make it bright, Make it bright Verse: Independent means has never been my strongest side That's why I followed in your guiding light, a place to hide But now you're gone, it's up to me to make it on my own To stop the rain, clear up the skies and do it all alone It's time I moved on out of your guiding light And made my own way in the night Make it bright, make it bright Verse: I've got it now, i see the way, it's suddenly come to me Your guiding light was shining for me temporarily Just enough time it seems, for me to understand That it was never meant forever, walkin' hand in hand It's time I moved on out of your guiding light And made my own way in the night Make it bright, make it bright Make it bright, make it bright

I Wasn't Lookin' ©2017 Greg Everett Verse: I walked into the bar room, and sat on the same old stool Right next to the window with the view I was feelin' tired and dirty, I worked a long hard day I stopped to see some friends and have a few Verse: Bored with the conversation, I turned to look around And saw you at a table, all alone I was about to turn back around, then you looked at me And gave me a feelin' I've never known Chorus: And I wasn't lookin' for no company tonight Until I turned around and I saw you And when your eyes turned to meet me, everything felt right Funny, you weren't lookin' for nobody too Verse: So I walked over to your table, and told you my name And asked you if you'd like to talk awhile And you stared right down into your drink while you made up tour mind And then you offered me a chair and smiled Verse: You said you'd come here to relax, and have a drink or two I knew you weren't out lookin' for a man But I felt there was a reason for these two lonely hearts To find this time together so unplanned Chorus

In A Dream 03:02
In A Dream ©2017 Greg Everett Verse: I closed my eyes and lost my mind To a year that's passed in a dream of mine And when I awoke, I might have laughed With the wind in my sail on a homemade raft I'm happy now in a dream... Run away from everything Verse: I live my life in a brand new way My dream goes on from day to day The people here are nice to me But no one sees what I can see I'm happy now in my dream Run away from everything Chorus: With the current that could carry a boy Bound for New Orleans in a dream And could last for the rest of my life But I like being lost... in a dream Verse: I finally found my place on earth It's the only place where I feel my worth It might sound crazy, being read in a book But if you see what I see, take a second look I'm happy now in my dream Run away from everything Chorus: Chorus:

Goin' My Way 02:54
Goin’ My Way Verse: She was walkin’ down the street when I saw her pass by It was the way she moved her feet that really caught my eye So I thought I’d take a chance just to see what she’d say She responded with a smile and now she’s goin’ my way Chorus: Goin’ my way Yeah goin’ my way Now she’s goin’ my way She responded with a smile and now she’s goin’ my way Verse: As she strolled on down the street in her satin and lace I said let’s get a bite to eat, let’s go up to my place And then I thought I’d take a chance just to see what she’d say She responded with a smile and now she’s goin’ my way Chorus: Lead: Chorus: Verse: Now when she’s walkin’ down the street and I see her again The way she moves her feet will make me wanna go where we been And I know I’ll take a chance just to see what she’ll say If she keeps right on a walkin’ or if she’s goin’ my way Chorus: She responded with a smile and now she’s goin’ my way

I’m Not Through Lovin’ You Yet ©2017 Greg Everett Verse It’s five o’clock in the mornin’ I haven’t slept all night I don’t understand how there could be another man And you’d leave me Verse I’ve worked so hard my darlin’ To give you things I thought you would need But if he gives you the rest, then I wish you the best Though you deceived me Chorus So go on to your new life my darlin’ But don’t think I’ll ever forget About the life that we had The good times and bad ‘Cause I’m not through lovin’ you yet I’m not through lovin’ you yet Verse There’ll be a place beside me I know I won’t regret I may never see what you needed from me But I’m not through lovin’ you yet Chorus Chorus

The Spider & The Mayfly ©2017 Greg Everett Chorus: Doo-dle do do doo-dle doo-dle do do Doo-dle do do do do Doo-dle do do doo-dle doo-dle do do Doo-dle do do do do Verse: In the shadow was the spider, his web spread out beyond In the bushes on the shoreline just above the pond In the water down below him, a ripple in the light And a mayfly leaves the water to make her maiden flight Chorus: Verse: And it’s brand new for the mayfly, the air beneath her wings But the spider thinks of delicacies nature often brings Then the mayfly stopped so suddenly as if she’d struck a wall She couldn’t seem to fly away, she didn’t even fall Chorus: Bridge: And the spider leaped to let the mayfly know his fatal bite But the strand that held the mayfly broke away So the spider sees the mayfly fly on outa sight But he knows that’s not the only one today ‘Cause in the water down below him, a ripple in the light And a mayfly leaves the water to make her maiden flight Chorus: Lead: Bridge: Chorus:

Quicksand 04:04
Quicksand ©2017 Greg Everett Chorus: I was drowning in quicksand until I fell in love with you I was sinking deeper and deeper and there was nothin' to hold on to And I know that I'd be a long gone man if you weren't there to pull me through 'Cause I was drowning in quicksand until I fell in love with you Verse: Now through all my troubles and all of my toils I never knew what happiness was 'Cause I'd hang around with all kinds of girls, that's what loneliness does And like a quicksand hole that grabbed onto my soul I made the same mistakes it's true 'Cause I was drowning in quicksand until I fell in love with you Chorus: Bridge: I was stuck in a hole You threw me a line I travelled many roads Now you're the new paradigm Verse: Well now the years gone by, I can look up in the sky and thank my lucky star Until you came along I had lived oh so wrong but that's all I knew so far And then you threw me a line and time after time I found it led me out of the blues 'Cause I was drowning in quicksand until I fell in love with you Chorus:

My, My, My 03:02
My, My, My ©2017 Greg Everett Chorus My, my, my, how convenient To tell me that you’re workin’ so late Why, why, why did you tell so many lies They were written all over your face I used to try, try, try walkin’ out of your life Stuck in a revolvin’ door But now it’s good bye, bye, bye for the last time And you won’t ever see me no more Verse I made a mistake a few years ago Thinkin’ you could settle down It’s my mistake, not yours, I know But I don’t need to stick around I’m tired of tears in the middle of the night And never knowin’ when you’ll come home Don’t worry ‘bout me I’m used to bein’ alone And Chorus Lead And Chorus

Winter Roses 02:55
Winter Roses ©2017 Greg Everett Verse Thorns in the frost, stiff in the wind Life is lost in the cold Accumulatin’ snows bury the rose And the souls of the young and the old Verse Winter’s a lifeless place in the mind Where nothing can grow or be free It lowers the pose of the proud summer rose And the lifeblood that everyone needs Chorus Wouldn’t it be a miracle if one day we could see A rose that would bloom in the snow Giving life and love all through the year Winter roses Verse I’ve seen what the cold and the winter can do To a rose that once was in bloom But life must go on, though the living is gone And the snow hides the rose in a tomb Chorus

Music Man 03:04
Music Man ©2017 Greg Everett Verse I don’t know how long I can hold out Walkin’ a lonely mile My pockets are empty and I am so tired Of playin’ just for smiles But on the stage is where I’ll be No matter where I am Because deep in my heart I’m a music man Chorus So I’ll travel by day and I’ll play all night ‘Til there’s no other place to go Playin’ guitar in a small town bar Is the only life I know Yes I’ll travel by day and I’ll play all night ‘Til there’s no other place to go Playin’ guitar in a small town bar Is the only life I know Verse Buy me a beer and I’ll sing real clear Anybody’s song And I ain’t too proud to sing real loud The songs I’ve sung so long People always know through the end of my show I’ve played the best I can Because deep in my heart I’m a music man Chorus

about

Written, arranged, performed and produced by Greg Everett, De-Plugged was created as a "back to basics" concept using no more than two guitar tracks on any one song. Vocals however, would have no such limitations. The result is a sparse, guitar accompaniment for a lead singer with rich, full harmonies. The songs range from country and blues to folk, light rock and pop.

Thanks to my wonderful grandkids, Langdon Langhoff and Byyce Langhoff for their vocal parts on "The Spider and the Mayfly," and a special thanks to my late wife, Bonnie for encouraging me to do what I do.
